Spring 2012
Silver Spatula Cooking Classes
Eating is one of the most
fundamental of human pleasures,
especially when shared with
others. I have always felt a deep
love of fine food, not necessarily
the “hoity-toity” variety, but all
kinds of healthy food, well
prepared and attractively served.
Especially food that boasts an
international appeal. Why eat the
same thing every night? Travel the
world on your dinner plate! Also,
real food is health promoting and
allows the diner to feel good about
the whole adventure. I hope you
find this term’s course offerings
appealing and look forward to
having you in my class.

New Courses for Spring
I am really excited about my new
courses this spring. I have
returned to some of your
favourites: Greek and Thai
cuisines. The Authentic Greek
Kitchen is back by popular
demand. Futher, I am offering a
Greek Easter course to inspire us
with some new flavours for spring.
Also new is Cinco de Mayo, a
Mexican inspired party menu and
Born to Grill which reflects me
love affair with summer cooking.
Lastly, An Evening of Thai is an
amalgamation of several courses, a
jam-packed evening of delicious
Thai fare, sure to please.
Remember, it’s Dinner
Not only do you receive full-colour recipes and a visual
demonstration of the dishes, you
have the opportunity to taste
serving sized portions of every
dish to see if it meets your
expectations. Beverages will be
served at each class; these may be
caffeine-free teas/coffees for
evenings, so you can enjoy a good
night’s sleep or another beverage
appropriate to the menu.
My Favourite Gourmet Gadgets
At each of my classes I have for
sale a selection of kitchen wares
that I enjoy using. My prices
always include applicable taxes
and no shipping or handling.
Cash, cheque, Mastercard or VISA
accepted!
Location, Location, Location
All my courses will be offered at
Hope Lutheran Church, 30
Shaftsbury Drive in Kitchener.
Just take Ottawa Street North,
cross River Road and make a right
turn at the third street on the right
which is Heritage Drive. This
leads you directly into Hope’s
parking lot.
Bring a Friend and receive a Gift
Many thanks to those of you who

business by bringing friends. If
you bring a friend (who has never
attended a Silver Spatula Cooking
Class), both you and your friend
receive a gift!
More Classes, More Savings
Any individual registering for
three or more classes at the same
time may deduct $5 from the cost
of each class.
For Your Convenience
I now accept Mastercard and
VISA, as well as cash and cheques.
Consider registering by phone
(519)893-8324.
Gift Certificates Available
Simplify your gift giving by
purchasing a certificate for a
cooking class for the budding chef
or dedicated foodie in your family!
Upcoming Classes
In the Fall look for Love those
Legumes, delicious ways to
incorporate these nutritional
powerhouses.
New Horizons
I am looking at expanding my
business in another direction
within the working community: A
mini-course featuring a particular
cuisine or culinary technique as an
employee incentive or to aid in
team building. Full-colour recipes
will be provided as well as
culinary demonstration, followed
by lots of tasting! Consider this a
new and exciting way to reward
good work and promote team
spirit! If you or a manager from
your company would be interested
in discussing this, please contact
me for more information at
